I was working as an assistant director in a wholesaler for organic fertilizers when I was introduced to Art of Living in 1998. Many courses and teacher courses followed, and since 2001 I have been a teacher of the Happiness program. It is so nice to see what this program brings to people. I also fulfill(ed) board positions and I do voluntary work in several organizations, including Art of Living, IAHV and at the time also for Shankara Europe. In 2006 I changed jobs and started full-time for Shankara Europe. I have been doing this job for years with a lot of pleasure and dedication, together with a wonderful team. The Sri Sri Ayurveda section, which this website is mainly about, is my great passion. Being consciously engaged, with all the good things nature brings, helping people find their way to themselves. Through lifestyle, healthy and pure living, pure food, being in the now. Body and mind in balance: that's what it's all about. The rest will come naturally ...
I started as a volunteer at the Art of Living Foundation in 1995. In 1996 I started working there full-time and until 2015 I was chairman of the Art of Living Foundation in the Netherlands and the International Association for Human Values Netherlands. In 2010 H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founded the World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB) in Brussels. Since 2010 I have been the Managing Board Director of WFEB. I started Sri Sri Ayurveda around 1998. In particular to offer consultations in Europe, given by our BAMS graduated Ayurvedic specialists from India. Later we started to do this in a more structural way, by occupying Sri Sri Ayurveda specialists in Europe by Shankara Europe Holding BV, of which I was the director until 2019. Over the years I have studied the maze of rules for the introduction of Ayurvedic supplements and at Shankara Europe BV I am also involved in the broadening of our Ayurvedic line of products. For example, we now have an Ayurvedic line for pets in our range.
Ayurvedic specialist (Vaidya)
Ayurvedic specialist (Vaidya) Lita Dash was head of the Sri Sri Ayurveda Pancha Karma Center in Bangalore for many years. Since Lita is the sixth generation of Ayurveda doctors in her family, her life was connected to Ayurveda from a very young age. She studied at the Orissa University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.; State diploma, licensed by the Indian Ayurvedic Ministry Ayush). Then she specialized in Pancha Karma (ayurvedic cleansing), nutrition and Marma Prana (treatment of energy points on the body). In Europe all Sri Sri Ayurveda Pancha Karma treatments and Marma trainings take place under her supervision. With more than 10 years of practice, she is not only an expert in these fields, but also in the field of Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis).
Ayurvedic specialist (Vaidya)
Ayurvedic specialist (Vaidya) Kiran Valsan obtained his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.; State diploma, licensed by the Indian Ayurvedic Ministry Ayush) at the Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science in Bangalore and specialized in Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis). For five years, he was head of the Sri Sri Ayurveda center in Kerala. His consultations were in so much demand that at times, he was consulted by 60 people a day. At the request of Sri Sri Ayurveda Netherlands, Kiran Valsan came to Europe where he gives consultations in The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Spain. He also frequently gives presentations, at which he explains the basic principles of Ayurveda in a clear and accessible way. In 2019 he was invited to speak for the European Parliament in Brussels and for the United Nations in Geneva.
After working at the administration of a highschool and at a township tax department in the South of the Netherlands, I worked for a company that specialized in all sorts of filing systems. In 2009 I started at the administration of the Dutch Art of Living foundation and Shankara Europe BV. For many years now I have been working at the administration of Shankara Europe and Sri Sri Ayurveda. My work is very versatile and challenging. To me, Ayurveda means having a vision of life that is close to nature and close to oneself. It is always a pleasure to hear new clients say, after their first pulse diagnosis: "how is it possible that your specialist understands exactly what I'm suffering from". And it is even better to notice how their health improves over time.
